From Chaos to Clarity: Why the Tigray RDMC Was Established

The RDMC was established in response to the critical need for improved data management and utilization in the Tigray Region’s public health sector. Previously, health data was fragmented, poorly organized, and inaccessible, hindering evidence-based decision making. We address these challenges by:
Standardizing data collection and storage: We ensure consistent data collection procedures across the region, promoting data quality and comparability.
Enhancing data governance: We implement robust data governance systems to guarantee data security, privacy, and ethical use.
Building capacity: We offer training and workshops to strengthen data management skills among regional health professionals and researchers.
Through these efforts, the RDMC plays a vital role in strengthening public health in the Tigray Region. We are committed to providing high-quality data and evidence to guide effective health policies and programs, ultimately improving health outcomes for the people of Tigray.
